‘Anonymous’ hackers plan to shut down the Internet this Saturday

Notorious hacker group Anonymous has previously stated its intentions to shutdown the Internet on Saturday, March 31st, as a form of protest. "To protest SOPA, Wallstreet, our irresponsible leaders and the beloved bankers who are starving the world for their own selfish needs out of sheer sadistic fun, on March 31, anonymous will shut the Internet down," the group stated last month. "Remember, this is a protest, we are not trying to 'kill' the Internet we are only temporarily shutting it down where it hurts the most." Operation Global Blackout 2012 looks to shut down the Internet by disabling its core DNS servers, thus making websites inaccessible. Cyber security experts claim that it is unlikely that such an attack would be effective, however, and there is really no need to fear. Read on for more.

"The Anonymous hackers can certain cause local pockets of disruption, but these disruptions are going to be localized to networks where their attack machines are located, or where their 'reflectors' are located", said Robert Graham of Errata Security. "It's unlikely they could take all of them down, at least for any period of time. On the day of their planned Global Blackout, it's doubtful many people would notice."

Graham does issue a cautionary note, however. "Just because I say Anonymous can't do it doesn't it mean it can't be done," the security expert said on Errata's blog.

EXTRAORDINARY LIVING (2)

...Carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith. Jude 1:20

STDs - we know them as sexually transmitted diseases, infections that are most often but not exclusively spread by sexual intercourse. They are among the most common contagious disease. But there's another kind of 'STD' that exists in the church: Spiritually Transmitted Diseases. Just like any infection, they are highly contagious, quickly spread and can damage our lives considerably if not treated. This kind of STD waters down God's words and weakens; bringing doubts, wrong thought patterns and a misguided way to live.

We need to avoid catching them and spreading them. Jude, the brother of James (and possibly the brother of Jesus) was so bothered about Spiritually Transmitted Diseases that he wrote a fiery letter to the church, telling them to watch out for them and fight against them. The danger is very real: there are false teachers and deceivers out there. They live pleasing themselves and encourage others to do the same.

We need to live differently, Jude says: 'But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit... In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God's love.' Don't rely solely on what others say about the Bible, discover it for yourself. Let's encourage each other to live right and keep STDs out of the church. What now? Text a friend a Bible verse that will encourage them in their Christian faith today. Put an encouraging Bible verse as your Facebook status to inspire all your friends.

EXTRAORDINARY LIVING

...Carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith... Jude 1:20

If you're intentional about it, your faith will grow. If you're lazy,
it won't! It's that simple. Like a river erodes a riverbank, your
faith can wear away just from living every day. If you don't do
anything to secure and strengthen your faith it will begin to
deteriorate - and you can count on that! Hebrews 11:6 NIV tells us
that, 'Without faith it is impossible to please God' so living by
faith needs to be the top of our daily agenda.

'Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not
see' (Hebrews 11:1 NIV) It's being God-confident - relying on God to
guide you through life. Henry Blackaby wrote: 'The kind of assignments
God gives in the Bible are always God-sized. They are always beyond
what people can do, because He wants to demonstrate His nature, His
strength, His provision and His kindness to His people and to a
watching world. That is the only way the world will come to know Him.'

God wants us to do things for Him that we can only do with His help,
because only then will we experience God at work in our lives, only
then will people see how great God is. Live by faith, take on
God-sized jobs and God-sized challenges - do something that you can
only accomplish with God's help.

What now? What extraordinary thing could you do today, where you need
to totally rely on God's help in order to do it? It could be small or
big.

LIFE IN A ROCKING CHAIR

There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
Are you spending too much time beating yourself up? If so, it's time
to stop! In a series of talks entitled 'Beauty for Ashes', Christian
speaker Joyce Meyer says 'don't waste time on things that produce
nothing good in your life.

Stop doing things that don't help you progress.' For many reasons we
can think badly about ourselves. Guilt, anger and shame are just a
few. Joyce compares them to living life in a rocking chair: 'the
thoughts will keep you busy, tire you out, but get you nowhere! You'll
go through life, simply rocking back and forth in your own misery.'

God doesn't want you to feel bad about yourself and confession deals
with it. First John 1:9 (NLT) says, 'If we confess our sins to Him, He
is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
wickedness.' God promises that when we ask for forgiveness, 'I'll wipe
the slate clean for each of them. I'll forget they ever sinned!'

Forgiveness comes by faith, not feelings. As long as you live by
feelings, satan has a weapon he can use against you at every turn. But
as long as you truly repent, whatever you have done is pardonable.
Once God's forgotten it, it's gone, so how can you still feel guilty
about something that doesn't exist? We may feel like we're condemned,
but we need to start living like we're not: 'There is no condemnation
for those who belong to Christ Jesus.'

What now? Settle yourself. Rest for a while and think over the fact
that there is no condemnation for anything you have done. Read Isaiah
49.15-16 if you need something to focus on.

THE RUMOUR MILL

Troublemakers listen to troublemakers... Proverbs 17:4

A conversation involving malicious chatter or rumours about other
people - that's gossip. But, oh how we can love it and indulge in it
every day! A quick Facebook status change here, a sneaky text there as
well as lunchtime chatter and banter. Then of course there's the
gossip columns, magazines and even TV and radio programmes spouting it
out. It's hard to keep away from it.

A person who habitually spreads intimate or private rumours or facts -
that's a gossiper. Not really something we'd want on our CV or online
dating profile is it? That's because deep down, we know gossip for
what it is. A weapon of mass social destruction, designed to break and
tear down an individual, friendship group, or community.

The moment somebody begins to gossip stop them and ask, 'Why do I need
to know this? Have you talked to the person you're talking about?'
Wise up; people who gossip can't be trusted! But what does the good
book say about dealing with gossip? Well, I'm glad you asked!
'Listening to gossip is like eating cheap candy; do you want junk like
that in your belly?' (Proverbs 26:22 TM).

'Gossips can't keep secrets, so never confide in blabbermouths'
(Proverbs 20:19 TM). 'When a leader listens to malicious gossip, all
the workers get infected with evil' (Proverbs 29:12 TM). 'When you run
out of wood, the fire goes out; when the gossip ends, the quarrel dies
down' (Proverbs 26:20 TM).

God's word speaks the truth, so get rid of gossip before it weaves
itself into the fabric of your everyday speech. '...Quit gossiping
about other people's sins ... and ... Your lives will begin to
glow...' (Isaiah 58:9TM).

What now? As you're chatting with your family and friends today, crack
down on gossip before it even makes it out of your mouth. Refuse to
give or receive gossip.

Inspiration : BITTER LEMONS AND DIRTY ASHES

BITTER LEMONS AND DIRTY ASHES
...We stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God... 2 Corinthians 1:9
Down in the dumps today? Feeling like the world and its mother is against you, and even God Himself has got it in for you? Life doesn't always turn out the way we plan or hope, does it? It would be great to have instant power to pass that exam, make that guy fancy us, grow a money tree, stop those bullies, take away the fear, stress, pain, unfairness. But we don't. When life throws us bitter lemons and dirty ashes, thinking positively and relying on God is often at the bottom of our agenda. It's hard to look forward to tomorrow when all around is a raincloud of doom. How can we believe that God truly loves us when the mess we're in doesn't seem to change? How can we trust God is there for us when it doesn't even feel like He's listening to our prayers? How can we rely on Him to help? After all, He could have kept Joseph out of prison (but didn't), stopped Daniel being thrown into a den of lions (but never did), or made sure Paul wasn't shipwrecked (but it happened anyway). Take a closer look as to what else happened. As a result of their painful near- death experiences, they got to know God more and the result was that they impacted the world around them. With God, your best moments will often follow the worst times. What now? Take strength from 1 Peter 4:12-13 and memorise God's promise to you in Romans 8:28.

10 COMMANDMENTS. GREAT READINGS

10 Commandments.
Great Reading.
Someone has written these beautiful words. Must read and try to understand the deep meaning of it.
They are like the ten commandments to follow in life all the time.
1. Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.
2. So a Car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the Rear view Mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on.
3. Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
4. All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.
5. Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a Base of Gold!
6. Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!
7. When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.
8. A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!"
9. When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.
 10. WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES, it takes away today's PEACE.

Samsung’s Galaxy S II named best smartphone in the world, and Samsung is just getting started

This year's Mobile World Congress is now behind us. And it was quite a show. Android phones got a bump to four cores, camera phones got a bump to 41 megapixels, and reporters and bloggers were run ragged as the wireless industry gave us a glimpse at the stars of their respective portfolios for the first half of 2012. The highlight of the show for us was definitely Microsoft taking the wraps off its Windows 8 Consumer Preview, and our favorite smartphones introduced at the show were HTC's ultra-sleek One X and its ultra-slim One S. But Mobile World Congress isn't all about looking forward, it's also about looking back at some of the mobile technology that has changed our lives in recent history. With that in mind, the GSMA handed out its Global Mobile Awards for 2012 earlier this week. Read on for more.

A number of top companies received honors at this year's awards. Nokia's C3-00 won best feature phone of the year, Apple's iPad 2 won best mobile tablet, Google Maps for Android was named best consumer mobile service, WhatsApp was named best overall mobile app of the year and Rovio's Angry Birds Rio was named best mobile app for consumers.

Top honors, however, went to Samsung this year as the South Korea-based consumer electronics giant took home awards for best device manufacturer of the year and for best smartphone thanks to its wildly popular Galaxy S II series of handsets.

"We are pleased to receive this honor from GSMA and believe that it's a testament to Samsung's innovation, quality products, and attention to consumer preferences," Samsung's mobile boss JK Shin said in response to the awards. "We sold over 97 million smartphones in 2011, demonstrating that this is the right approach."

The Galaxy S II was undoubtedly an iconic smartphone that sent Samsung's smartphone business soaring in 2011, but the company is hardly done leading the pack. The world's top Android vendor is expected to launch its next-generation Galaxy S III smartphone in April and according to an exclusive report from BGR earlier this week, Samsung has no plans to slow down in 2012.

PRIDE SYMPTOMS

Don't hold back-you're not going to come up short ... Isaiah 54:3

You'll rarely find pride-filled folk sharing food or allowing friends
to use their phone credit - but they'll often be happily chomping away
on friends' chocolates and finding emergency reasons to make calls on
their phones.

They're always last to get a round of drinks in, and make the most of
trying to avoid paying for a round at all. They never leave tips when
out for a meal. They'll only buy presents for someone who will give in
return, secretly hoping they get the best deal; they put coins and
never notes in the charity pot or collection plate; after all, their
need for that extra GHC 20.00 a month is always greater.

Another less obvious symptom of that same prideful heart is hoarding.
Every drawer, cupboard, room in their house jam-packed with stuff they
'just might need.' These folk become reluctant to give anything away
to help someone in need, just in case they may need it again; lending
out belongings is a definite no-no, for fear they will get damaged and
they will be left without. Their mindset is gimme-gimme, rather than
give and give again.

Happy to point this attitude out in other people, they're oblivious to
it flourishing in their own. Matthew 5:16 says '...Be generous with
your lives ...you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous
Father in heaven.' So no hoarding or stingy living for us; remember
'Don't hold back-you're not going to come up short' .

What now? Read 2 Corinthians 9:7-9. Think of a way to be
exceptionally generous today, then do it. Surprise someone by going
beyond their expectations!
